Kinley Namgay, Managing Director
Kinley is the brainchild behind Druk Executive Travel. His love for travel and his zeal to showcase Bhutan in its purest form resulted in a travel company that has earned the respect of travelers far and wide in its 14-years of operation. With over 17 years of experience in the travel business, Kinley spends time traveling, scouting for new locales or playing archery and biking.
Tshering Choden, General Manager
Tshering pursued her formal travel education in Berkeley, California, with a Degree in Travel Management and Adventure Specialist. Her biggest accomplishment came with an opportunity to work at Mountain Travel Sobek, a leading Adventure Company based in California. There, she gained exposure and insight into the global travel industry operations and logistics, and hence has a good understanding in carrying out seamless travel arrangements.
She is often seen participating in travel fairs, taking care of every marketing aspect in promoting Bhutan and representing the company. Besides her love for travel, she is often hiking and into adventure sports. She overlooks marketing and operations in Druk Executive.
Chimi Wangmo, Manager Organizer- Operations
Started as an operation assistant in 2005 and later promoted to Manager (operations) at Wind Horse Tours due to her superb communication skills. Her dedication to the job has been overwhelming. At Druk Executive Travel, Ms. Chimi Wangmo is now the head of operation and is a tour organizer where she also manages business correspondences. She is known for her tremendous work ethics and going the extra mile on her work. Going back, in-between Wind Horse Tours and Druk Executive, Ms. Chimi also worked as an Infrastructure Development Assistant with the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), the Government body of Bhutan governing all Travel Agents in the Country. Becoming a part of Druk Executive has already kept her enthralled and geared up for the adventures to come. She is challenged to do better both in her professional and personal career.
Mandira Subba, Ticketing
Mandira is responsible for flight reservations. She reconfirms flights and gives us timely updates about any schedule changes, and assists in administration and operations. She loves traveling and spends time reading books on various subjects.
Kavita Rai, Finance
Kavita is from Sarpang, a southern town in Bhutan. She pursued her Diploma in Accounting and Financial Management from the Royal Institute of Management, Thimphu. Kavita is responsible in maintaining office accounts; she is detail oriented and pursues her work with great passion and dedication.
Rinchen Pelmo, Reservation
Rinchen is from Punakha. She takes care of all the hotel bookings, visa applications, and permits. She is very meticulous and detailed when it comes to her work. She has a special interest in weaving.
Phub Dorjee , Driver
Phub is a professional driver who has been with the company for a long, long time now. He has been driving in Bhutan for over 20 years. He makes timely inspection of all the tour vehicles to make sure it is safe to be on the road. A very humorous and jovial person, he is one of the most sought after person in the office if he is not on tour.
Lotay Drukpa, Driver
Lotay is one of the senior most drivers in the field. With more than 25 years of experience in the field, he has immense knowledge about the country and loves sharing them with everyone. He also loves spending time with his family while he is not on tour.
Namgay Wangchuk
Namgay has over 15 years of guiding experience into the tourism field. With his knowledge into Buddhism and cultural, he traveled the length and breath of this Dragon Kingdom mostly on cultural trips. He often leads adventurous trips on the trek with a record of 5 times on the most legendary Snowman trek. He loves to hike and play archery when time permits.
In 2008, he was handpicked by Tourism Council of Bhutan to undergo Tour Leader training at Bangkok, Thailand. Namgay’s knowledge on Bhutanese culture and his gentle demeanor has won him fans the world over sharing his knowledge with insight and humor.
Sonam Chophel
Sonam seeks a fulltime platform to apply his years of knowledge and experience in the guiding field applying his skills, aptitude and abilities to lead towards a successful career path of innovation, perfection and excellence. He takes an extra attention in helping tourist plan their tour while he also escorts to every single area throughout the trip and building up friendly relations with the guests with his extra ordinary communication skills. Along with his profound confidence and ability to speak in public, he finds it very easy to understand the wants and needs of the guests which make every tour he leads a successful one. Sonam is one of the most senior guides in Druk Executive Travel and has been handling Audley clients since 2008.
Jamyang
Jamyang started working as a cultural and trekking guide in the Himalayan region since 2000. He started the profession as an assistant for about two years and then full-fledged in 2002. He is found to be very capable in handling both cultural and trekking groups. Jamyang has completed one of the most challenging trek ( i.e Snowman for about almost 12 years now). He has special interest in bird watching besides playing Archery (National sport) while he is not guiding. Jamyang is known for his special care and attention to elderly ones and loved by people of all walks of life.
Dawa Nidup
Dawa Nidup from Phobjikha (the land of the Black Necked Cranes) valley worked with Druk Executive Travel since from 2012 and started handling Audley clients after a year.
While Dawa was in his primary school, he saw a lot of tourists visiting. Some of them would come and interact with the school students. Hereafter, he realized he would be a Tour Guide some day and let people know how beautiful Bhutan is. Going by his profession and as a responsible citizen, Dawa takes so much pride in being a Bhutanese. He loves to share enjoyable and interpretive experiences of iconography, nature and History. He is one amongst the senior guides here at Druk Executive Travel
Jimba Zam
Jimba is among the few female guides in Bhutan today. Her witty sense of humor and her jovial nature has a naturally calming effect on her guests. A treasure trove of knowledge on Bhutan, Jimba loves to educate visitors on almost any topic related to the tiny Himalayan nation. Her specialty lies in cultural tours, treks around Bhutan, and the flora and fauna of the land.
Kaka
Prior to his current profession as a Tour Guide, Kaka worked as a Teacher and taught Language and Culture for over a decade. He felt the need to change his profession mainly because; apart from teaching he also has keen interest in learning about flora and fauna. He was pretty sure that this could be the place where he could expand his knowledge. Moreover Tour Guides are truly an Ambassador. They represent our country and therefore to give good image and to share the inner history the cultural values, tradition and religion of one’s country to the outside world, Kaka personally feels being a guide is the right job or the right place to convey all those wisdom and knowledge. Not only that, this is also a plat form where you meet and share different experiences and knowledge with people around the globe. Kaka is a silent guy but always on his toes for anything that may be required of him.
Lhab Tshering
Lhab started working as Tour Guide since June, 2000. He worked for various tour companies and has led more than 80 groups so far. He is found very hardworking and cheerful with very good feedback from the guests. He started working with Druk Executive since 2011 and has beautifully handled groups for Audley
Tandin Wangchuk
A very young and energetic guide, fairly new to the industry but with his good communication skills, Tandin has won hearts of quite a lot. He started his profession as a culture tour guide since 2014 and thereafter led groups for Audley. He is very hardworking and dedicated.
Wangda Rinzin
Fully licensed and humble he is, Wangda resides in Thimphu and started working with Druk Executive Travel as tour guide since 2013. Apart from his profession, he enjoys playing soccer, basketball and biking. Wangda is a graduate holding a degree certificate in Business Administration (BBA) from Saint Joseph college, Darjeeling (NP) in India. He is enthusiastic about bird watching, photography and Bhutanese culture. His knowledge in Buddhism and history combined with good sense of humour makes him a great tour guide with deep commitments. Wangda is a very hardworking person and DET is happy to have him in our team.
Kunzang Jamtsho
With Bachelor’s Degree from East West College of Management in Computer Application, India, Kunzang has about eight years experience in the field. Prior to that, he worked as a temporary guide for the various foreign delegations during His Majesty, the King’s Coronation in 2008 which influenced him to be a full fledged guide. Kuenzang spent most of his childhood in Bumthang which also attracts a lot of tourists for it’s holy places. He is a licensed cultural guide but with fond interest in trekking, flora, fauna and Buddhism. He has been handling Audley clients since 2011.
